Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society
The national honor society Theta Alpha Kappa (TAK) was founded in 1976 to recognize academic achievement in the study of religion. In 2012, the Alpha Lambda Iota chapter was officially instituted at UNC Asheville. Students do not need to be a Religious Studies major or minor to be eligible, but they do need to have taken at least 12 hours of RELS courses and have earned in those courses a 3.5 or higher GPA, with an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
